Notes from a {prole} writer in Minneapolis

1/30/26

So, the mood in Minneapolis is NOT all doom and gloom. Plenty of smiles today. Business as usual in retail. Turn the TV off, stop the doomscrolling—there is a real world out there and it’s turning.

People are the ones making it turn. Citizens of ALL walks of life!

There are not evil forces constantly plotting against you; just a few very unhappy greedy deviants with issues and a lot of money are doing it to ALL of us. We outnumber those ghouls and wretches—remember this.

The overall mood at work is like just another day. Maybe there’s a heavy undercurrent to some. I’m okay. Not everyone can participate in the General Strike today. It’s all good though. We come to work and do our jobs. We have dignity. We have union contracts that help keep us ahead that way. Minneapolis is a big Union town with a great heritage of showing up and showing out.

This is one of the main reasons that we are targeted. The oligarchs would love for you to forget that piece of history and turn yourself in to go work for them in one of their labor/concentration/ice detainment facilities. If you’re a bootlicker, I would suggest doing that so you can put your money where your mouth is and take that slave wage pay cut that the plastic-faced people at mar-a-lago are desperate to give you;-)

Last night I had dinner at Franklin Pizza. A proud immigrant-ran establishment that seriously makes some of the best pizza I’ve had in the city. I’m equally proud that they are in my neighborhood.

This picture is taken above the Somali museum in Midtown. Whenever I look at these it fills me with a sense of community and comfort; these are worth fighting for! Stay safe out there in the General Strike today.
